The Easy Fondant / Gum-paste Rose Makers!

Time is Money - The Easy Edible Rose Maker

In the cake making industry, Time Consumption is one of the topics I hear about the most! The time it takes to get from order inquiry to delivered product is generally more daunting than most of our clients will ever realize or appreciate.

As a cake artist myself I find great value in the tools and techniques that will save me time without jeopardizing quality. Here we talk about 2 different options for fondant roses that make these quick and easy, if six bucks can save me an hour or more, order after order, I am game! Especially when it means spending more time with my handsome boyfriend!! (he made me add that part!) In all seriousness though, for decorators who do not want to spend the steep prices on pre-made edible roses and flowers, these tools both give you the ability to easily and quickly create beautiful edible roses!

Easy Rose Maker #1

The first tool we want to talk about is the super easy "cut and roll" custom fondant cutter, we sell this amazing cutter in 3 different sizes. Please see our VIDEO Tutorial of this product hereTutorial Video

Step 1

Of course you have to roll your fondant gum paste with color of choice out on the counter or silicone mat. From there you can start cutting away using the shape that you prefer. Once you have a few pieces ready to go, you're going to want to flatten the ends of each round piece even more to give the "petal" look to them, as seen in figure 1 below.

Step 2

Using water or alcohol and a food grade paint brush lightly damp a line down the center of the peddle strip.

Step 3

Fold your strip in half and lightly pinch it in the middle.

Steps 4 & 5

Roll your fondant strip slowly, spreading each peddle until you have a full rose, as seen above.

Step 6

Can pinch of excess fondant from the base if needed. The end result is beautiful & easy roses in a snap!

Easy Rose Maker #2

The second tool we want to talk about comes in 6 sizes and also allows for quick & easy fondant roses.

Step 2

Using water or alcohol and food grade paint brush lightly damp the center of your shape, and form your roses by pressing the peddles closer around each other until you have beautiful edible roses!
