Hanukkah Cupcakes
Happy Hanukkah Bakell Fam! We hope you are having an amazing day with your family and want to join in on the fun festivities you have planned. You know what they say- "Cupcakes are sweet, and even sweeter when shared" - Marie Williams Johnstone.
So, how do you decorate the best Hanukkah cupcakes?- First, a fun fact about Hanukkah!
Did you know: that there isn't a wrong or right way to spell Hanukkah? There is no correct or exact way to translate Hebrew sounds into English, so whether you spell it Hannaka, Chanukkah, or any other way, it's perfectly okay!
Here's what you'll need:
- Hanukkah Krazy Sprinkles Combo Pack B
- Hanukkah Tinker Dust Combo Pack
- Hanukkah Airbrush Combo Kit White
- Solid Light Blue Standard Size Cupcake Wrappers & Liners
- Metallic Blue Cupcake Liners & Wrappers
- Solid Navy Blue Standard Size Cupcake Wrappers & Liners
You're going to want to take a plain base, whether store bought or baked on your own, and set them up for decorating. We're going to use the three Bakell Hanukkah sets to decorate these cupcakes, featuring our Airbrush Gun for Luster Dust!
First, let's take the Airbrush gun and prep the ingredients. In the base holder, take the Luster Dust color of your choice and mix in water using the Base Holder. The more water you add, the less potent the Luster Dust will appear on the frosting. After connecting the tools together, use the airbrush gun to color the frosting.
Here is a quick guide on how to assemble and use the Airbrush gun:
Set the mini compressor down and settle it into place. Then, attach the air hose into the machine and the other end into the actual air brush. The base holder is meant to be used to mix the Luster Dust and water together, which you will then take out using the dropper. Drop the liquid into the airbrush gun and, depending on how hard you pull the lever, the more or less will come out. Note: if you let it sit in the gun too long, then the powder will sink to the bottom and clog the hose. If you’d like to see what the different amounts of water does to the Luster Dust, we suggest testing it on a napkin so you have the desirable shade.
Take however many cupcakes you'd like and begin airbrushing color onto them. If you'd like to change the color, then you will have to rinse the airbrush gun, hose and clean the dropper out. We've decided to cover some, splotch some, and then lightly cover others. Once you're done, you can set them aside while you decorate the other cupcakes.
With new cupcakes, take the Tinker Dust Hanukkah 4 Pack and choose your desired shades. Note that Tinker Dust is too big of a powder and cannot be used in the airbrush gun. With the pump, spray the cupcake in a quick and easy way. The more you spray, the more the color will be potent and bright!
We decided to go for a simple look, using a light amount of the Tinker Dust Pumps to cover the frosting.
With the final cupcakes, take the sprinkles and decorate the cupcakes to your hearts desire. Mix them, use them individually, whatever brings you the most joy in decorating. We've taken to using a mix, using them individually and using a mix of two.
Now that you've used them individually, you can start doubling up. Take some of the cupcakes you've covered with Luster Dust and sprinkle some Tinker Dust on them. Add some Krazy Sprinkles, some glitter to the sprinkles, whatever you'd like.
There you have it! You have yourself some beautifully decorated Hanukkah cupcakes. Enjoy after dessert, during celebrations or even on your own. Now, do you want to know the real secret to making amazing Hanukkah cupcakes?
Sufganiyah! The official donut of Hanukkah.
These sweet, jelly filled donuts commemorate the miracle of one night of oil lasting eight days and nights.
But how do we translate donuts into cupcakes? Before we begin- another fun fact!
Did you know: that 17.5 million jelly donuts are eaten in Israel during the Hanukkah Holiday season? Sufganiyah translates directly to a round jelly donut. While jelly donuts are the most traditional, some donuts are in fact filled with custard.
To Modify Our Cupcakes, we're going to hollow out the cupcake base and fill it with some jelly. You're going to have to frost the cupcakes yourself, over the jelly and then decorate with the packs, as you please. if you'd like to mix it up a bit, then you can also add the custard instead of the jelly into the cupcake!
There you have it! Some amazingly perfect Hanukkah cupcakes.
