Apple Thyme Bourbon Smash
Ah, yes. Autumn- a time where the leaves change color and beanies come out to play. The season wouldn't be complete without a bourbon drink. With this refreshing drink that reminds us of spiked cider, let's enjoy the autumn breeze and make it a staple of the season.
Ingredients:
-Apple
-Water
-Natural sugar
-Thyme
-Bourbon
-Lemon juice
-Soda water (lemon or unflavored)
-Rose Gold Brew Glitter
-White pearl sugar sand
Here at Bakell, we want to make your sweater-weather season memorable, and add a little garnish in to your cocktails. As the #1 manufacturer for edible glitter in the world, it is our pleasure to present the Apple Bourbon Smash, and to remind you to carve out the good times!
First things first: The apple thyme simple syrup.
Place one cup of diced apple (the sweeter the better!), one cup of water, 1/2 cup of organic/natural sugar and 4 sprigs of dried thyme into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil and then reduce the heat so it can simmer and cook. After 10-15 minutes of continuous stirring, or when the syrup has turned to a light brown and the apples have softened, remove it from the heat.
Take the syrup and add it to a heat-safe container so it can cool completely. For the best flavor, store it in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
Once it has cooled, put it into a cocktail shaker and muddle the apples until all of the juice has been removed. Fill the shaker with ice and shake it vigorously to chill.
To create the cocktail, fill a cocktail glass with a few large ice cubes and add 3 ounces of the simple syrup. Add 1.5 ounces of bourbon, 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and then top it off with soda water.
To add that special autumn twist, take the Light Pink Brew Glitter and add 1/8 teaspoon (4 pumps) into the drink. Stir and watch the magic happen!
If Rose Gold isn't your color- try out Bronze and Red.
Remember- the drink is yellow!
We at Bakell hope you have an apple-solutely wonderful rest of your day. Enjoy the cozy season!
