Basic color theory applies when using our colored edible glitters in drinks; meaning if you mix "Blue Brew Glitter" with a "dark yellow or gold drink" you will get a Green Colored Drink (ie, yellow + blue = green). So if you don't want to change the color of your beverage use a colored glitter that matches your drink color.
All of our edible food-grade dusts & glitters contain various mica powder pigments and go through a specific manufacturing process allowing the mineral to be edible & consumable.
Common ingredients in edible glitters or dusts can include: Dextrose, Color Additives including food grade Mica Based-Pearlescent pigments, FD&C Colors, Cornstarch.
The FDA has approved all of the ingredients being used in our edible glitters & edible dusts based on the FDA approved ingredients & usage levels. To learn more about the FDA approved usage levels and the approved ingredients list from the FDA click on the links below:
I purchased two beverage glitters (rose gold and pearl) for a bachelorette party and also received a small sample (in gold). All three glitters were beautiful. The rose gold and gold worked best in clear or light drinks so there was a hint of color, while the pearl worked well in any drink (red wine, beer, soda). If the drink did not fizz on its own (i.e. champagne), the glitter would settle to the bottom over the course of about an hour. However, once more drink was added, the settled glitter would redisperse. One note of caution: the small glitter particulate exacerbates any bubbling in a drink because of the increased surface area to generate bubbles. Be cautious when adding to an already fizzing drink, or pouring a carbonated drink on top of the glitter.
I ordered rose gold brew glitter to make the fruit punch special for a sweet 16 party. It was a huge hit! Everyone loved it from adults to children and the birthday girl kept the leftovers to use in as many drinks as she can! I will be ordering more for future parties!
