Are You A Business?
Yay! Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner, which most of us will celebrate with family, friends, outdoor fun, and of course, backyard cookouts complete with all sorts of delicious goodies.
And as far as finding the perfect red, white, and blue themed dessert goes, this patriotic cupcakes recipe from fits the bill. These adorable treats are so much more fun and interesting than simply whipping up a batch of cupcakes and throwing colored frosting on them.
The different hues are incorporated into the cake itself -- but don't worry, they're easy enough for any baker to do!
The great news is that the base of the recipe starts with a boxed mix -- because who wants to spend all day in the kitchen making something from scratch on a three-day weekend? That's why we love this FUN MEMORIAL DAY CUPCAKE dessert recipe!
These cupcakes are sure to be the hit of your Memorial Day party not only because of how creative they are -- but also because you'll actually have time to sit down and enjoy them. Ok, lets get started....
Here is What You'll Need:
Let's Make Some Cupcakes:
Prepare cake mix batter according to package directions for cupcakes.
In a small bowl, combine 1-1/3 cups batter and blue food coloring. In another bowl, combine 1-1/3 cups batter and red food coloring. Leave remaining batter plain.
Fill paper-lined muffin cups with 2 tablespoons red batter, 2 tablespoons plain batter, and 2 tablespoons blue batter. Bake at 350°F for 20-24 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely. Frost with vanilla frosting; decorate with any of our edible Bakell Tinker Dust ... like our red, white or blue edible glitters & dusts!
Yield: 1-1/2 dozen.
** And if you can find cute little AMERICAN FLAG or STAR toothpicks, they really do look awesome stuck in the tops!
