Are You A Business?
Recently the Bakell team got together to celebrate the spookiest day of all. Kids in costume, trick or treating, pumpkins galore, and best of all… the treats! We served a fruit tray, chips & dip, and a salad, sure, but that wasn’t the fare the many Spidermen & Unicorn Princesses were asking for. GIVE US THE TREATS! they proclaimed, and gladly we did. Halloween Popcorn Bark (see our recipe here), spooky sugar cookies, and sparkly cupcakes comin’ right up.
The best part about throwing a Halloween party? Getting to pull out all the stops found in our Halloween inventory. Here are some of the tricks we pulled out of our bag to make this party extra scary!
This thing is awesome (and it comes in a smaller size too)! Our cutters are sturdy stainless steel, meaning they’ll last for years to come and this pumpkin shape transitions from Halloween to Thanksgiving seamlessly.

Makes perfect little cookie for some little hands to sneak! We used the same cookie and icing above, and dusted them with our favorite edible glitter!
Our beautiful Petal Dusts are so versatile! We used them in both our cookie and cupcake icings to get the purple & orange colors just right!
Tinker Dust just might be our favorite thing ever, because you can sprinkle it on anything! It adds just the right touch of black magic to Halloween treats. We use the Pumpkin Orange color on our cookies and mixed the Gold dust with orange sugar sprinkles to give it that festive fall touch!
To avoid all the stress that comes with throwing a party, you better believe we prepped ahead! We premade our sugar cookies a few weeks before with a very simple recipe and froze them, pulling them out and icing them the morning of the party. We made our cupcakes a few days before too, keeping them unfrosted and covered with plastic wrap until go time!
To make a quick and easy sugar cookie icing, we tossed together a few cups of powdered sugar, 2-3 tablespoons of almond milk (thicken with more sugar of thin with more milk to reach desired consistency), ½ teaspoon almond extract, and Petal Dust!
To create our cupcake frosting, we used a block of softened cream cheese (because, CREAM CHEESE FROSTING PEOPLE!), vanilla extract, milk, and a couple of teaspoons of orange Petal Dust. For the cupcakes, we didn’t shy away from boxed mixes, pulling together some tried & true tips written by our founder, here!
We had such a wonderful time celebrating Halloween and the start of the holiday season with family and friends! The best part of what we do here at Bakell is helping people gather. To eat, drink, and be merry! We wish you the best as you prepare your kitchen for the holiday season.
