Celebrate World Baking Day with Luster Dust Fondant Sugar Cookies!
It's time to celebrate World Baking Day on May 17th! It first started in 2012 and traditionally is celebrated the third Sunday of May but is Observed on the 17th. It has grown into a hugely popular day of celebration with family and friends enjoying delicious meals and tasty desserts. In the spirit of World Baking Day Bakell took simple sugar cookies, fondant, and added a few of our most popular Luster Dust colors, cookie cutters, and stencils to create absolutely delicious and eye catching desserts.
For the ingredients you will need:
-sugar cookie dough
-an edible adhesive
-white fondant
-Any liquid to mix with the Luster Dust
(so you can paint it on Lemon juice or vodka are perfect to create the right consistency)
After rolling your cookie dough to the proper thickness take the Coffee Mug and Puzzle Piece cookie cutters and create your cut outs. While you have the cookies baking in the oven you can start on the fondant.
When you're done rolling out your fondant to about 1/8th inch thickness, pour some Luster Dust into a small container and brush on the dry dust over all of the fondant.
Next place the stencil on the fondant so it is completely flat and then place the cookie cutter on top of the stencil. This will help keep the stencil in place and help guide you while applying the Luster Dust.
Next put a small amount of Luster Dust into a container and pour just enough liquid to mix the Dust into a consistency similar to acrylic paint. Using a small brush apply the mixture on to the fondant.
Take off the cookie cutter and carefully pull off the stencil. Using the cookie cutter create a cutout. Repeat the process till you have matching stenciled fondant toppings for all of your cookies.
Finally take your sugar cookie and apply an edible adhesive such as Dab n Hold so the fondant will stick to the cookie.
We hope you enjoy this recipe and definitely encourage you to experiment with Luster Dust the next time you are baking any desserts!
